Adele – Wales Nov 18, 2009 My usual preference is 4- 5 star hotels but since we were on a road trip along this route, that wasn't an option. I was very pleasantly surprised - motel is very clean and tidy. It is in a good location and the lady who checked us in was very friendly. Don't expect it to be modern...the decor would probably be praised for being totally retro if this was in New York. I am a very fussy hotel guest and I totally approved.
“big rooms with very friendly service”
Angelini Newcastle Sep 23, 2009 We only stayed at this motel for one night but it was very comfortable. Appreciated the layout of the room and lounge was comfy too. Owners (think they had only taken over the place recently) were very helpful. When we left, my husband wasn't feeling the best and one of the owners gave us a few chamomile tea bags in an envelope to help him recover, with a good health message written on the front of the envelope. Very thoughtful. We didn't ask much of the owners, but had the feeling that they would have been more than helpful, trying to accommodate the needs of guests.
“Clean, Spacious, Country Hospitality all evident here”
Daytripper077 July 28, 2009 Travelling south from Brisbane to Melbourne we decided to stay at Coona. The Warrumbungles were too much of an attraction to miss so we stayed an extra night so we could visit them. Arrived around 7pm to a courteous welcome and found our room to be warm and inviting. We judge motels by their smell and tidiness. This one excelled. Service was what you expect - prompt & cordial. Really enjoyed the region and the motel experience added to this enjoyment. Pity it was a little chilly to utilise the inviting central pool. Not the best country motel in NSW but well above average. Would not hesitate recommending it. The edge of town locale was great and the town very pleasant with a great Tourist Info centre and of course attractions such as the Warrumbungles. Very glad we stayed here. Nice motel, nice region, nice town. Seems like a lot of accommodation in this town but you would be hard pushed to do better than the Matthew Flinders Motor Inn.
Sallbag - 12 Aug 2009 We stayed at Matthew Flinders for one night as a stop over during a drive from Victoria to Queensland. We chose it because it was the cheapest room I could find in Coonabarabran with internet access. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the room, though smallish, very comfortable and the wireless internet was free and fast. Just what we needed after nearly 10 hours behind the wheel. All up a pleasant stay and will be definitely staying again next time we are driving up that way.

Many thanks for sending shoes I left behind. I have had them for ages and are favourites. Despite the dry countryside we had a relaxed and happy weekend in Coonabarabran mainly to be spoilt for my birthday at your restaurant. Do hope your efforts bring rewards at the Matthew Flinders Motor Inn as you deserve it. Our sincere regards......

Best wishes to Matthew Flinders Motor Inn and may it always be plain sailing for you. I am sure it will be a breeze. Talking about breeze, when you hear it ringing in your ear it will probably be your ship coming in. Thanks for a wonderful stay...you are great hosts and deserve success.

It was a very great & pleasant stay during our holiday here in Australia. Felt a little bit like home, like Bavaria in the middle of Down Under. A great stay thanks a lot.
